Summary:
The Prince of Homburg is a haunted, impetuous young German general. During the 17th century, the Germans are at war with the Swedes. The Prince is having trouble sleeping - he lusts after his commander's beautiful niece and frets over being on the battlefield. In a crucial battle, the Prince leads his troops into battle before being ordered. The Germans win the battle, but the Prince faces severe consequences.
