An atheistic philosophy professor, having been asked to create a religion for a computer world, develops a model in which a computer version of himself would need to relate the laws to the inhabitants of the virtual reality, and, after a rival introduces a virus, he is faced with his virtual self having to commit an act of selfless love by absorbing the virus in order to save the computer world, which leads him to question his thoughts on religion.
