Summary:
This is the story of an eccentric New York family whose crimes, dreams and memories collide one fateful summer. There is Bella, the emotionally arrested child-woman yearning for independence, her Prussian general of a mother who refuses to let her go, two temporarily abandoned, wisecracking teenage boys, Jay and Arty, and their gangster uncle, Louie, who is either a henchman or a hunchback, depending upon who in the family is asked to describe him.
