Annabelle Tyler, an upstanding young woman, is struggling to create a new life for herself in spite of the stigma of being divorced, but an unexpected turn of events leads to her marriage to Philadelphia's most eligible bachelor, Harrison Graymoor, and though he assures her he will secure a quick annulment, the public announcement of their nuptials, coupled with pressure various sources, has Annabelle and Harrison thinking about making their union real.
