Summary:
Guide places emphasis on the broader issues of identity and prejudice and is designed to be integrated into almost any curriculum concerned with diversity. Each chapter contains lesson plans based on fictional or autobiographical children's books appropriate for kindergarten through fourth grade. Lesson plans include discussion questions as well as exercises organized by curricular area. Additional resources are listed, and the appendices offer content information, guidelines for teaching sensitive topics, reprints of important human rights documents, and suggestions for finding other material.
