Summary:
Near Lourdes, France in the mid-1800, a young impoverished Bernadette was gathering wood for her family when she experiences a vision. Because authorities do not believe her at first, she is committed to an asylum. When she doesn't change her story, skeptics are gradually converted, and she is recognised as a saint. The grotto at Lourdes is proclaimed a sacred site of pilgrimage.
