Summary:
Lawn bowls player Cliff Starkey is a roguishly handsome superstar who can't keep out of trouble. When he catches wind of an upcoming championship match between England and rival team, Australia, he becomes determined to make the national team. Quickly acquiring a flashy American agent and becoming the most popular player in England, Cliff vows to dethrone traditionalist bowls champion Ray Speight, who has made no secret his dislike for Cliff's brash showmanship. When Cliff starts dating Ray's daughter, the competition really begins to heat up.
