Former Chicago reporter Tom Coleman, having lost his child and marriage, retreats to the Nebraska Sandhills where he has inherited a rundown campground, wanting only to be left alone, but he is yanked back into the real world when a drug lab blows up near his property, putting him in contact with the woman he once loved, a small-town cop, and a local drug lord.
