Summary:
Lampião, the cangaceiro hero to the impoverished people of Brazil's northeastern sertão, is murdered. Demoralized, the people turn to magic. Two peasants, Rosa and Manuel, become involved with a sect but kill the leader when he sacrifices an infant. Rosa and Manuel flee to join Corisco, former follower of Lampião, as he is stalked by Lampiao's assasin.
