A celebration of current and past superstars, hockey players are profiled and illustrated with photographs from the Hockey Hall of Fame. Hockey enthusiast Chris McDonell celebrates the current and past superstars of the world's fastest sport. McDonell's tribute is divided into four hockey positions: centers, wingers, defensemen and goaltenders. For each position, he chooses the 15 greatest players of all time plus the 5 best young players. Such legends as Nels "Old Poison" Stewart and Frank "Mr. Zero" Brimsek had to compete with a century of hockey greats. Deciding who today's top young players are was almost as difficult. Not every worthy competitor could be included, but the stories of Hockey's Greatest Stars are certain to entertain anyone who appreciates the game of hockey. McDonell introduces each position and explains some of the criteria for his selections. Fans of all ages will enjoy the lively commentary infused with insider anecdotes describing the 80 players' personal and professional histories and colorfully reviewing their greatest achievements on the ice.
