Summary:
Trouble bubbles up in Heartbreak Bay as underhanded oil man Cal Stryker talks Fog Benson into drilling right nest to the wildlife preserve. Ranger Jack Wedloe is having disiplinary problems with his nephew, Mark who begins investigating the oil well's effects on the environment for an essay contest. Fog's daughter Ashley and Mark find more than they expected, because the drilling operation is really just a cover for dumping toxic waste. It's up to Mark and Ashley to protect the wildlife--especially a bear named Ben--by exposing Stryker's crooked doings.
