The anonymous play on which Shakespeare based his King Lear. Has been variously attributed to Kyd, Lodge, Marlowe, Greene, and Peele, the consensus of opinion dividing the authorship jointly between Greene, Kyd, and Lodge; cf. NUC pre-1956. "As it hath bene divers and sundry times lately acted."
