Letter written by Nettie Bacon from Mount Holyoke Female Seminary, South Hadley, Massachusetts to her family in Gilead, Ohio April 15 & 17, 1865. In it she describes how she felt and public reactions to Lincoln's assassination. The letter was discovered "in a pack of old papers in a shop on the coast of Maine."
