Notes:
"250 standard and 90 special copies of this book have been made ... The standard copies include an original lithographic book illustration found among the effects of Barnett Freedman at his death in 1958, and these are mostly from Lavengro, Anna Karenina or ... War and Peace. The special copies include an original illustration ... and an original lithographic Christmas card housed in a pocket inside the rear board. The specials are housed in a slipcase, and all the books are quarter-bound in cloth and paper printed with a repeat pattern made up from a short strip of decoration originally intended as a border for a 1937 Imperial Airways poster. Ian Wright Creative did the preparation of the images, and J.W. Northend Ltd of Sheffield printed the book on Parilux matte cream, before it was bound in Wellingborough by the Fine Book Bindery"--Colophon. "Designed and published by Simon Lawrence at his Fleece Press ..."--Title page verso. Includes mounted illustrations (some folded). Includes bibliographical references (page 20).
