Summary:
After three friends from college find a wedding veil said to unite its bearer with their true love, the friend who takes the veil, an art museum curator, begins to investigate the origin of a long-lost painting with a new board member while preparing for an upcoming gala; one of the friends takes the veil to Italy to research its origins while teaching an art history class, and soon she meets the son of a local lace-making family; the last of the friends to take the veil, who works at an auction house in New York, meets a restaurateur, and together he helps her try to find a museum to purchase an original draft of the poem "The New Colossus" before it goes to auction, and she tries to help him with the opening of a new fusion restaurant.
