One day, Freddie Fernortner and his friends, Chipper, Darla, and Mr. Chewy, find something in a nearby pond: tadpoles. The three first-graders catch a bunch of them and decide to raise the small creatures in a fish tank at Freddie's house. They know that soon, the tadpoles will turn into frogs, and they're excited to watch them grow. But raising tadpoles isn't as easy as they think, and it's not long before the excitement and thrills are hopping!
