Evie Baker, storyteller, yearns for adventure, so she ventures into the Old Forest hoping to catch a Fel and compel it to use its magic to grant her wish; instead she stumbles into a nest of robbers and has to be rescued by the Queen's Guard--but maybe it is the start of a dangerous adventure because she and her new friend Max, a Guard messenger, have stumbled unto a conspiracy.
