Summary:
In 1906, a young woman named Hanna Leitner feels suffocated by the rigid daily routine of her bourgeois household with two daughters and sexually abusive husband, Anton. Seeking to escape, Hanna follows her Freudian neurologist, Otto Gross, to Monte Verità, an idyllic resort in the Alps where she can finally develop her lifelong passion for photography. Now Hanna faces an impossible choice between her family and her art.
