Doctors who serve in war zones from Vietnam to Afghanistan to the emergency room about to cave in during the onslaught of Covid-19 patients are tested as never before. Aging physicians confront their own lapses in judgment. Devotion to a career where they feel all powerful has sometimes meant the collapse of their marriages and estrangement from their children.
