Summary:
Allison Manex, a typical Midwestern girl, enters the tenth grade with a wonderful circle of friends. She's neither popular nor an outcast, and she has had the biggest crush on Oliver Walker since seventh grade. He's her entire reason for taking French class in eighth and ninth grade, in the hopes that she'll have a class with him. William Mantel has only crossed paths with Alli once--back when they were in third grade--that is, until fate decides to bring them back together during fifth period. As the school year progresses, their friendship deepens, and they become more at ease with one another. They spend ample time together, consistently text back and forth, and share a repertoire of inside jokes understood only by them. It was inevitable for Alli not to fall for her best friend, but complications arise when William ends up dating a girl who detests their friendship and Alli's feelings for him. William asks the impossible of Alli--to attempt being friends with his girlfriend so things can start to feel normal again. He doesn't realize how hard this request is on her and the problems it will cause between them. How will they manage the complexities of school, work, friendships, and now romantic entanglements? How many tests can one friendship go through and survive?
