Summary:
Yakko Dōjōji: "Based on the legend of Dōjōji, a famous temple in Wakayama Prefecture, the dance Musume Dōjōji told of the maiden Kiyohime who, believeing herself promised in marriage to a travelling priest, pursued him to that temple where he hid under the large bronze bell. At this, her bitterness and anger transformed her into a fiery serpent which coiled around the bell, destroying both it and the unfortunate priest beneath"--Leaflet.
Kisen: "The dance Kisen features the 9th century poet priest, Kisen Hōshi ... it is one out of a series of five dances called Rokkasen sugata no irodori ... The theme of the work as a whole concerns a group of medieval poets, singled out in the preface to the famous 10th century, Kokin wakashū, "Collection of ancient and modern verse' "--Leaflet.
