When he first started seeing ghosts, Max Woodbead Smith assumed that other people must see them, too. Now, at the end of sixth grade, Max knows better and keeps the visions to himself. After a supernatural storm hits and captures Ramhart's soul, Max -- with the help of a few new friends -- has to go on a quest to find his grandfather's Field Guide, an enchanted book that contains the key to defeating an unearthly nemesis. And they'd better find it fast, before Ramhart's soul is gone for good.
