Summary:
[Disc 1]. Hunger Games begins with the annual Reaping in which the captial forces each of its 12 districts to send a teenage boy and girl, between the ages of 12 and 18, to compete in the Hunger Games: a nationally televised event in which 'tributes' fight each other within an arena, until one survivor remains. When Primrose Everdeen is 'reaped' for the 74th games, her older sister Katniss Everdeen volunteers in her place to enter the games and is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts when she's pitted against highly trained tributes.
[Disc 3]. Catching Fire begins after the Hunger Games winners return to their home district. But as winners, Peeta and Katniss must also tour the other districts, and as they travel they sense rebellion stirring as a result of their actions in the last games. To quell the rebellion, President Snow opens the 75th Games as a means to pit the winners of past games against each other in an effort to destroy Katniss and Peeta.
[Disc 5]. Mockingjay, part 1 follows Katniss after she survives the 75th games and returns to District 13. She begins to take a more active part in the rebellion lead by President Alma Coin as she fights to save a captured Peeta and free Panem from President Snow.
[Disc 7]. Mockingjay, part 2 concludes the series as Katniss and her friends fight for not just their survival, but the survival of Panem, as they attempt to overthrow the government and kill President Snow.
