Henry has worked hard to maintain his secret identity, keeping his occupation private from everyone, including his family. A chance encounter with a family friend, Marianne, reveals far more than he's comfortable with. Now he's not the only person who knows . . . and Marianne's discretion comes with strings attached. Working in a field that does not value women, Marianne struggles to find success. She needs a little help of her own and devises a scheme that will benefit both of them: her silence in exchange for Henry's help with her career. A few months of fake courting will give them the opportunity to work closely together, then they go their separate ways. But what happens when the secret is too much to bear and the fake relationship doesn't feel quite as fake anymore?
