On an Earth colony filled with ghosts and psychic illusion traps left by the aliens who once lived there, down-on-her-luck para-archaeologist Lydia Smith is reduced to working at the low-budget museum Shrimpton's House of Ancient Horrors, stumbles upon a dead body in the sarcophagus exhibit, and discovers that her new client, Emmett London, is not only a very dangerous man but one that she cannot resist.
