Summary:
Recorded over several years, presents the work of the controversial Jesuit missionary, José Maria Corta, with the indigenous peoples of the upper Ventuari Amazon in Venezuela. He refused to preach Christianity and worked with the Indians to improve their agricultural practices and eventually helped establish educational programs that incorporated local cultural norms.
