Summary:
Set in Poland just before and during World War II, this drama directed by Has and written by Stanisław Dygat, looks at the nature of the economic and social elite during this time, and how they interact with the less-privileged majority. These interactions are portrayed primarily through the changes that happen to a young and wealthy man as he starts to grow up, and to the experiences of a young, impoverished woman who marries out of her economic class and into a new life.
