Set consists of 4 items. Part I is an account of Massmann's publishing, entitled "The Sowing," and also incorporates an essay by Walter Hart Blumenthal entitled "Most founders feared democracy." Part II is a dos-á-dos binding, section A of which is a bibliography of REM Miniatures entitled "The Harvest" and section B an album of mounted sample illustrations from various REM Miniatures publications entitled "The Chaff". Part III is a scroll formed of sample pages from various REM Miniatures publications. In addition to the 45 copies of part II, section A, "The harvest" that were printed for this set, a further 200 copies were printed and were issued separately. Library copy is #1, signed by Robert Massmann. Library set includes seperately bound pieces of "Most founders feared democracy" by Walter H. Blumenthal, and "Chronological checklist of REMiniatures" by Robert E. Massmann. According to accompanying note, Massmann "only did two sets which included separates of the Blumenthal and Checklist pieces, mine is Number 1. He bound the other set in leather for himself."
