Summary:
Bert Rawlings views his gig as interim dean of students at a dysfunctional college in the woods of northern Wisconsin as an adventure. If he gets through the winter, spring fishing would be great. Reluctantly, he takes on some "extra credit" sleuthing for the new college president, Margaret Kristian. Then came "Hallowtween," the rebellious faculty and staff party - and a dead body in the nearby marsh. Bert works through the challenges of a dean dealing with a student death - a student he thought he knew well. But he winds up being detective when the state investigator needs help navigating the unique atmosphere of a college campus. A tangled web of sketchy college staff, twisted relationships, a strip joint, and a colorful police chief keep Bert guessing about the campus tragedy. Things become even more complicated as Bert sorts out his relationship with Margaret, when she joins him in creative efforts to flush out the killer
