Summary:
Benny Poteat is a tower jockey. One day, working hundreds of feet in the air, he watches a girl die. She sets up a video camera and walks purposefully into the rushing river below him. Startled at what he's witnessed and his inability to prevent it, he hurries to the scene. He then gathers up her belongings and doesn't tell a soul what he saw, slowly insinuating himself into the life she once lived, until it becomes impossible for him to reveal his and its unbearable burden.
