At age thirteen, Broken Trail is ready to become a warrior. Captured and adopted by the Oneida people in the midst of the war between the British and Americans when he was a child, he has refused his white name, and avoids speaking English. But everything changes when he's mistakenly shot by a redcoat soldier.
