Summary:
Mary Rafferty (Garson) is a maid in the home of steel magnate William Scott. When Mary & Scott's son (Peck) fall in love, Scott approves of their marriage. But Mary's father (Barrymore), bitter about an accident at the mill years earlier, curses their marriage by stirring up a violent strike, with tragic consequences.
