Rosie was the princess whom all the creatures of forest and field and riverbank knew was special. She was spirited away from the evil fairy Pernicia but a curse was already cast on Rosie. She was fated to prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and fall into a poisoned sleep which no one would be able to rouse her.
