Summary:
In the course of a stakeout, where a police detective, with plenty of personal problems, and his partner are hoping to catch a killer who has struck three times, the officer confronts a man who is seen sneaking away from the area. When confonted, the man apparently pulls a gun and the officer fatally shoots him. In the course of the subsequent investigation, no gun is found and the dead man turns out to be a respected doctor, with a seemingly impeccable reputation. Of course no one believes the detective and he must struggle against overwhelming odds to prove his innocence.
