Best friends Lydia and Julie, armed with the notebook in which they recorded lessons about the behavior and taste of popular girls at their elementary school, feel as ready as they will ever be to start middle school, but they face a crisis when Lydia's mom moves her family to London for six months, leaving the girls to face the challenges of middle school alone.
