Summary:
When a former minor league pitcher injures his shoulder, his career is over and he goes on to coach high school baseball. His perpetually losing team makes a deal with him that if they win the district championship he must try out for a major-league club, and he is forced to live up to his end of the bargain. His big-league dreams are revived and he becomes the oldest rookie in the majors.
