Summary:
Cole is sent back in time to save the human race from a deadly virus. Along his travels, he gets help from a psychiatrist and a mental patient, who may just hold the key to the mysterious Army of the 12 Monkeys, thought to be responsible for unleashing the killer disease. Hoping he can take back a pure sample of the virus to find a cure, he runs into one riddle after another in this race against time.
