Summary:
Star, an irrepressible orphan loves her somewhat unusual life in the loving care of the wonderful old keeper of the lighthouse who rescued her from a shipwreck when she was a baby. Then a mean truant officer begins a relentless campaign to have Star sent far away to a boarding school.
