Summary:
After a challenging childhood in Depression-era Iowa, Bill Reed joined the US Army Air Corps, but with the outbreak of WWII, he resigned his commission and traveled to China to fly for the American Volunteer Group, the legendary Flying Tigers. He flew 75 missions before returning home. He returned to China, flying with the Chinese-American Composite Wing before tragically losing his life in a parachute jump.
