Summary:
As e.e. cummings put it, "To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you like everybody else, means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight, and never stop fighting." It is in this light that this film follows Nicco, Norie, and Keegan, three young New Yorkers from different race and class backgrounds, as they prepare for and undergo the first operations for a female to male transition. Their stories are interspersed with interviews with lesbians, activists, and theorists who engage with the often-contentious questions and issues that are raised within the queer and feminist communities but that are rarely discussed openly.
