The Local Area Builders are ready to create new places in their community, specifically places that young learners love to explore. Readers are invited along as the builders plan to plant a forest, construct a museum, make a beach, and much more. After each location is built and its important components considered and described, a map of the town is updated. Young builders and planners will love learning how community helpers improve their communities. A concluding activity encourages them to make a map of their own town or city--or even a made-up community with their favorite sites to explore.
