Summary:
Based on the biography "Ri Kōran watakushi no hansei" by Yamaguchi Yoshiko and Fujiwara Sakuya. Ri Kōran (Li Xianglan), a popular actress and singer who starred in films made for Chinese audiences by the Japanese-run Manchuria Film Productions in the late 30s and early 40s, is tried for treason and collaboration with the Japanese after the Sino-Japanese War. At her military trial, she confesses that she is in fact a Japanese named Yamaguchi Yoshiko, who had grown up in China and had Chinese godparents. Kawashima Yoshiko (Chuandao, Fangzi), a Manchu princess who was brought up in Japan and had worked for the Japanese Kwantung Army, narrates the life of this other Yoshiko.
