520    $a Ernestine Stodelle, a former member of the Humphrey-Weidman Company, coaches Sarita Smith-Childs in Doris Humphrey's Two ecstatic themes, a solo in two parts, Circular descent and Pointed ascent. Analyzing the choreography section by section, she clarifies and refines its details, with attention to shape, timing, dynamics, and motivation. The sections are preceded by video clips showing the choreography in performance, and key concepts are identified in subtitles. A full performance of the work concludes the tape. This tape is not intended as a means of learning the choreography, nor as a replacement for the notation score or a coach. All works by Doris Humphrey are copyrighted, and permission to perform them must be obtained from her son Charles Humphrey Woodford.
