Summary:
Seven years after the Monsterpocalypse, Joel Dawson -- along with the rest of humanity -- has been living underground believing everyone he's ever loved is dead. Surprised by a radio connection that reveals his high-school sweetheart is only 85 miles away, Joel decides a human connection is worth the risk of this short but impossible journey through the deadly beasts which now rule the surface.
