From out of the shadows comes this final collection of hard-to-find noir classics: The Shadow in the Window (1956); The Long Haul (1957); Pickup Alley (1957); The Tijuana Story (1957); She Played with Fire (1957); The Case Against Brooklyn (1958); The Lineup (1958); The Crimson Kimono (1959); and Man on a String (1960).
Shadow on the window: "Three teenagers, led by psychopathic Jess Reber, break into an isolated farmhouse and murder its prosperous owner whose secretary, Linda Atlas, witnesses the crime. The three thugs decide to hold her hostage. Detective Tony Atlas, perplexed by the sudden disappearance of Betty, his estranged wife, tries desperately to locate her."--IMDb
The Long haul: After the war Harry Miller settles in Liverpool with his English wife Connie. Harry becomes a truck driver, but his domestic life is not happy. He is easy prey for Lynn, the girl firend of racketeer Joe Easy
Pickup alley: U.S. narcotics agent Charles Sturgis trails international dope smuggler Frank McNally by following his reluctant accomplice Gina Broger through the "pickup alleys" of New York, London, Lisbon, Rome, Naples and Athens.
Tijuana story: Courageous newspaper editor Manuel Acosta Mesa tries to take on the mob in Tijuana through his newspaper, reporting on the violence, prostitution and drug sales in the border town. The syndicate, led by Peron Diaz, looks to do whatever it takes to take down Manuel and his paper, using threats and violence.
She played with fire: An insurance investigator runs into an ex-girlfriend, who is still as beautiful as he remembered her but is now married. He soon finds himself involved in arson, blackmail and murder.
Case against Brooklyn: A gritty, brutal drama that traces how the police, empowered by the D.A., go about smashing a violent betting syndicate.
The lineup: In San Francisco, a psychopathic gangster and his mentor retrieve heroin packages carried by unsuspecting travelers.
Crimson kimono: A murder mystery set in the Little Tokyo section of Los Angeles. An exotic dancer is shot in cold blood, and detectives Charlie Bancroft and Joe Kojaku are put on the case. When the two detectives meet a key witness, both cops fall in love with her, making a hard-to-solve murder even more complicated
Man on a string: A Russian-born movie producer has the background necessary to become an ideal counterspy for the CBI. He agrees to the deception, and, aided by agent Avery, pretends to defect. The only question is how long the producer can keep up the charade?
