Proceedings of an international conference held at the University of Toulouse, 8-10 October 2014. "Une nouvelle inédite de Patrick Chamoiseau, L'ultime sourire de l'Antillaise, ouvre le volume"--Back cover. Includes bibliographical references (pages 353-370) and index.
Summary:
"For a quarter of a century now, Patrick Chamoiseau has been firmly established in our literary news. But since Éloge de la Créolité (1989) and Texaco (1992), the Martinican writer has not stopped questioning criticism and overflowing landscapes he had installed. The works he inspires thus testify to his resonance in various linguistic spheres on both sides of the Atlantic. To better understand the situation of this author-hub within the vast array of postcolonial literatures, the LLA-Créatis team sought the assistance of researchers from all geographical horizons. With them, in the presence of the writer, we will do justice to the creativity of this storyteller of all kinds. We will also go in the footsteps of the multiple influences at the heart of which he works - but it will be to better understand the originality of this "thinker-actor" of the planetary literature."-- Translation by Fabula.
