Summary:
A housekeeper's stealthy efforts to poison her elderly master and take control of his estate by convincing the master that his grandson is unworthy are uncovered. In the film's second plot a religious guest insinuates himself into a wealthy Parisian family as the faithful wife tries to convince her husband that the man is a lecherous hypocrite.
