Fool's gold: Colonel Jed Landy (Forbes Murray) visits the Bar 20 to ask Hopalong to help save his son. Forty thieves: Hopalong proves his opponent for the sheriff's race is crooked. Hidden gold: Hopalong and Lucky visit their old pal Speedy (Britt Wood) and investigate gold thefts.
