Summary:
This program features women who rejected domestic slavery as the expected woman's role and opened America's eyes to the radical possibility of a life beyond cooking and cleaning. Eleanor Roosevelt, Mary McLeod Bethune, organizer of the black members of FDR's "Kitchen Cabinet", Marian Anderson, the "voice of the century", all contributed to women's change of attitudes. Also featured are Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Betty Friedan and Pat Schroeder.
