Fourteen-year-old Ellis, raised by his mellow mom in Tucson, forms a bond with Goat Man, a loner who lives on his mom's property, cares for the pool, raises goats, and smokes dope; but he discovers he has other options in life when he moves to Pennsylvania to attend school at his father's alma mater.
